Clinical Director, Certified Clinical Supervisor

Amelia (Poulos) Kazakos, born and raised in Pensacola, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW, FL License 5281). She completed her undergraduate degree (BSW) at the University of West Florida and her graduate degree (MSW) at Florida State University.

Amelia has practiced Clinical Social Work for 25 years and has experience and certifications in many different areas including, but not limited to general mental health, psychotherapy, substance abuse treatment, EMDR, sexual and domestic violence treatment, eating disorders, grief, and school social work. She is also an instructor with the University of West Florida Department of Social Work, directing the Child Welfare Field Unit. With her diverse experiences and proficient insight, she brings a broad variety of service perspectives to meet the individual needs of the clients. She has studied many theoretical approaches to therapy and provides an eclectic attitude to empower the client with the ability to heal in their specific situation. In writing a description of self, it is often difficult to graciously provide a summary of glowing accomplishments. So, with greatest humility, she offers the following quote from a recent client satisfaction survey comment: "Amelia is a very special angel from God. She gives me that inspiration to keep going. She is always kind courteous, and professional. I love her smile and concern every time I see her, regardless of how bad I feel. We need a lot more counselors in this world like Amelia Kazakos".
