Helping Children Communicate Their Feelings
Children often have difficulty articulating their feelings, which makes it difficult for adults to understand the reasons for their behavior. It's important to recognize that your child's behavior actually has meaning. The challenge is to find keys to understanding the reason(s) behind your child's actions. Our fun, interactive techniques are built on evidenced based research and are designed to help your child overcome emotional and behavioral challenges with a goal of becoming a happier, well-balanced individual.
Adult & Child Mental Health Care clinicians are specifically trained to assess both the environmental and psychological factors that may be influencing a child’s behavior. After assessment, an individualized treatment plan is developed based on each child and family’s specific needs.

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
ADHD symptoms can be challenging for the whole family, and the disorder itself is typically misunderstood and often misdiagnosed. That’s why our clinicians recommend complete assessment in both home and school settings followed by an individualized ADHD treatment plan. Through treatment, your child will learn new skills and cues that will help with attention, self regulation and social skills. Caregivers are also trained to learn which behaviors are typical for ADHD and how best to respond to these behaviors.
Child Anxiety and Depression
Yes, children can experience anxiety and/or depression, which may significantly impact a child's behavior and may even negatively impact school performance. Child anxiety and/or depression may often be difficult to recognize and may even present as anger. Individualized treatment tailored to your child’s needs may ameliorate suffering and assist with living a happy life. Caregivers are also trained to model skills learned in sessions and to assist the child between counseling sessions.
